Feb 28th 2026 Repair Cafe was amazing
As always there were lots of interesting things brought in for repair. There are pictures and stories starting with the keyboard case brought in by our keyboard player. It was big and the zip needed mending. It was impossible for the machinist to hold the case and sew the zip so I helped.
I TOLD YOU WE NEED MORE VOLUNTEERS! Ha ha
It is all for a good cause!
One of the volunteers brought in a slow cooker that’s only been used once and a sandwich maker that’s been used 3 times, to be given to anyone that could use them. She said, I could pass them on to MAP (Methodist Asylum Project) if they have been PAT tested, or anyone else who needs them.
MAP does not have PAT testing equipment or a qualified PAT tester and will not accept electrical equipment unless it is PAT tested. Guisborough Eco Group Repair Cafe now has the equipment and a PAT tester. He tested them for her and they are ready to be donated.
Santa and the snow man.
Our amazing Fixers did their work but couldn’t try them because they had no batteries. Hopefully Santa Clause and the bowler hatted snow man will get batteries for Christmas.
The bingo numbers machine
This bingo number machine started and then stopped without notice. The Fixer team discovered a problem with the cable so replaced it for the lucky owner.
Keyboard music at the repair Cafe
The aim is to give everyone a chance to play the keyboard in the hope that someone will enjoy it so much they will take it up. it will change their life.
Thanks to Guisborough Methodist Church for agreeing to let us have a keyboard player at the Repair Cafe.
This was the first time we have had one so I did a survey to find what people thought about the event. I’m pleased to say visitors were very positive about the aim and the music. It was popular and he’ll play again at the March 28th Repair Cafe so please tell your relatives and friends about it. We’ll look forward to seeing you and them.
