As you skip through the items in issue 2 you will discover you can return egg boxes and honey jars to be reused, you can get a refund on alternative medicine jars when you take them back to be recycled and it is possible to refill to reduce single use plastic. You’ll be reminded that our volunteers are repairing clothing and bikes. The group organised the Cleveland Green Gathering and there is a collage of the many stalls that were there to advertise how you and they can help to save the environment, with a special mention for Rose Country wines who uniquely reuse glass bottles. You can read how the Guisborough Giant project started and is using recycling in construction of works of art. Also East Cleveland Good Neighbours are advertised. (I went to an event where we were given free food. 13 people did not turn up so Good Neighbours picked up the left overs to distribute.)
There is an item about saving money, reducing heating costs and carbon emissions. If you think you might be eligible it gives good advice. We will be pleased to discuss it in an Eco Group meeting.
The last Repair Cafe included a Cloth Nappy demo. If you missed it and want more info that event will be in the next issue of GEN.
